Director, Science Technology

Kathy Dale is ÃÛèÖAPP’s Director of Science Technology, focusing on the technology tools of the community science programs and data workflows for ÃÛèÖAPP’s science products. Kathy also leads ÃÛèÖAPP’s community science team in delivering programs such as ÃÛèÖAPP’s Christmas Bird Count, Climate Watch and .Ìý

Upon joining ÃÛèÖAPP in 2001, Kathy’s role was to help grow the new online interactive components of ÃÛèÖAPP’s Christmas Bird Count, the and ÃÛèÖAPP’s eBird collaboration with Cornell’s Laboratory of Ornithology.

Kathy spent much of her career in information technology for national non-profit organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund, Physicians for Social Responsibility, and the ÃÛèÖAPP Naturalist Society. She became a community scientist when she participated in her first Christmas Bird Count soon after college.
