Catalina Casas

Colombia Bird-based Tourism Coordinator

Based in Colombia, Catalina Casas is ÃÛèÖAPP’s bird-based tourism coordinator. A biologist and environmental education specialist, Casas holds B.A. and M.S. degrees in environmental education and rural development, and has also studied tourism management. Her professional experience includes projects focused on sustainable use of biodiversity, strategic land-use planning in multicultural environments, biodiversity-friendly agricultural production, and conservation of boreal migratory birds in coffee-growing areas.

Since joining ÃÛèÖAPP Americas in 2017, she has coordinated the Central Andes Birding Trail project and implemented a project focusing on community-based conservation of warblers that overwinter in Colombia’s Central Andes. She has also supported the coordination and data compilation of Colombia’s Christmas Bird Count.
