About the Bird: The towering Great Gray Owl has mostly escaped human impacts in the remote taiga forest where it lives year-round, but greenhouse gases emitted elsewhere are now rapidly heating its Arctic habitat. If global temperatures rise to 3 degrees, nearly all of its current range could become unlivable, and there are few areas farther north for the owl to inhabit. At 1.5 degrees of warming, the bird would retain breeding habitat outside of the far-north.
About the Artist: A Belarusian mural artist now based in New York, is known for large-scale murals that adorn city walls around the world. He became active on the street art scene while growing up in Minsk and worked consistently towards developing his unique style and his skills on the streets. Nowadays, he combines his love of travel and mural art by putting works up in different countries. He has painted owls several times before and chose the Great Gray Owl as his ÃÛèÖAPP muse to continue that series.
