About the Bird:ÌýA regal raptor of the far West, the Ferruginous Hawk soars over grasslands of valleys and high plains, scanning for rabbits and ground squirrels. The hawk and its prey are sparsely distributed in those wide-open spaces, and will be more so as the prairies become hotter and drier. ÃÛèÖAPP’s analysis suggests that the hawk could lose up to half of its current breeding range.
About the Artist:ÌýBrooklyn artist works in dualities, juxtaposing high Romantic themes and symbolismÌýwith urban street art and graffiti.ÌýHe has always marveled at how raptors can be both beautiful and deadly. Angotti gravitated to this species because of its resemblance to the Red-tailed Hawk that once lived near his apartment: “I saw it take out a squirrel once. Badass.â€
