ÃÛèÖAPP Events Marking Earth Day 2025

Centers, state offices, and chapters across the ÃÛèÖAPP network are marking Earth Day on and around April 22.

On and around Earth Day, ÃÛèÖAPP centers, state offices, and local chapters are bringing communities together to celebrate birds and wildlife. With 15 state and regional offices, 31 centers, 29 sanctuaries, and over 400 community and campus chapters, ÃÛèÖAPP is fostering a culture of conservation throughout the year. From plant sales to family-friendly events, these programs help empower people to protect wildlife and their own communities.

Here are some highlights: 

Phoenix, AZ
—April 26, 2025  
This free festival will celebrate sustainable food, beer, music, and shared connections to wildlife. Attendees can enjoy nature activity booths, guided bird walks, and live animal workshops. The day will feature performances by The Birdsong Project, as well as Birds n' Beer science presentations.

San Diego, CA
—April 17, 2025
Join campus chapter San Diego City College Bird Alliance in presentations and discussions that focus on environmental justice issues both human and bird related. They also have AmeriCorps presenting on how to become a Climate Corp member, a talk about endangered species in both English and Spanish, and a panel on jobs in the Green Economy.

Maitland, FL
—April 19 and 20, 2025  
Celebrate Earth Day with a visit to the ÃÛèÖAPP Center for Birds of Prey, where you'll have a chance to complete a conservation-themed puzzle trail as you make your way around. Solve all the puzzles and win a small prize!

West Alton, MO
—April 26, 2025  
Celebrate native plants and all they do for us and our environment! Local partners will share tips and local resources for native landscaping and its benefits. There will be plant giveaways (while supplies last), open tours of the USACE Riverlands Greenhouse, local food, plant and artisan vendors and family friendly activities!

Lincoln, NE
—April 5, 2025  
Spring Creek ÃÛèÖAPP Center will join the Indian Center, Inc. for this cross-cultural family-fun community event. This time of year many Native peoples give thanks to the Thunder beings for providing rebirth with rain & thunder. It is also a time we celebrate the return of many migratory birds to Nebraska. So ÃÛèÖAPP and the Indian Center are celebrating together with music, dance, food, arts, kids games and activities, and much much more.

Oyster Bay, NY
—April 26, 2025
During this day of service, volunteers will assist with projects such as invasive plant removal, garden and trail maintenance, Tern Shelter building, native seed separation, bird house cleaning, and more! Projects are available for a full variety of abilities. Before volunteering begins, staff will be hosting a morning bird walk on the property for those who may be interested. 

Syracuse, NY
—April 26, 2025
Join the Onondaga Lake Conservation Corps for the 6th Annual Earth Day Cleanup Event. Participants will pick up debris along the Onondaga Lake shoreline and learn from ÃÛèÖAPP staff and volunteers about birds, other wildlife, and the importance of healthy habitats in the Onondaga Lake watershed. 

Columbus, OH
—April 19, 2025  
Families and groups are invited to participate in multiple projects to help kids ages 2-12 take action in protecting our environment and investing in our planet’s future. Community partners will be on site to educate kids on environmental stewardship actions. Join us for a day of fun, education, and live music!

Dayton, OH

You’re invited to a family-friendly fun day at Aullwood ÃÛèÖAPP! Celebrate spring and migratory birds such as warblers, tanagers and orioles – many of which nest at Aullwood. Learn how to make a difference and take some easy bird-friendly actions to protect migratory birds and make our own homes, neighborhoods and cities more beautiful and healthier. Free activities between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. include Slow Birding Walks, Family Exploration Walks, Bird Migration Storytelling, Ohio Falconry raptor show, draft horse wagon rides, a community created Grassland Bird Mural, an interactive musical concert focused on birds, migration and conservation and plenty of opportunity to explore Aullwood at one's own pace.

Join us for a special release of 2SP Brewing Company’s Circadian IPA featuring the artwork of John James ÃÛèÖAPP! The John James ÃÛèÖAPP Center and the 200+ acre Mill Grove estate will serve as a beautiful backdrop for an evening with good friends, good food, and, of course, good beer! We’re thrilled to co-host this exciting beer garden party with longtime partner 2SP and invite you to raise a can with us to toast birds, beer, and the thing that unites us - clean water. We all gotta have it!

Celebrate Earth Day with us! Bring your friends and family for a fun day packed with exciting activities starting with our annual native plant sale. A wide selection of native plants from Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens, Behmerwald Nursery, and Gino’s Nursery will be available to purchase. Not sure where to start? Experts will be on hand to help you select plants that work best in your space. From pollinator plants to rain gardens, you’ll find something for all your bird- and eco-friendly gardening needs. While you’re here, enjoy artist-led workshops, kids’ activities, partner organizations, canoe rides, and more.

Download iNaturalist and join Discovery Center staff for a series of walks around the reservoir to competing in the world-wide City Nature Challenge. By participating and utilizing iNaturalist to identify all species found on-site, guests become community scientists as their data collected is stored and compared to other cities in real time. 

Cedar Hill, TX 
—April 12, 2025
This semi-annual plant sale offers a variety of native Texas plants that use less water and provide food and habitat for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. Plants adapted for this landscape not only do better and benefit the ecosystem, but also beautify urban spaces and protect water sources. All sales benefit Dogwood Canyon ÃÛèÖAPP Center.

Dallas, TX

This family-friendly community event will have guided hikes as well as indoor and outdoor activities.
