APP Comments on EPA Head Nomination
In response to President Obama’s nomination of Gina McCarthy to head the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the APP issued the following statement:
“Gina McCarthy is whip-smart, tough-talking and tenacious. She is exactly the kind of leader the country needs to make historic progress on APP change solutions,” said APP Vice President for Government Relations . “She has a rare and genuine ability to bring together diverse viewpoints to reach real solutions, something Washington desperately needs. She’s been a champion for Long Island Sound, grasslands and species conservation, clean and sustainable water resources, clean air, and dealing with APP change. She helped spark a national movement with the 2006 launch of Connecticut’s No Child Left Inside initiative, connecting countless children and families to nature. We enthusiastically support her nomination.”
