About the Artist:His roots in the graffiti world make spray paint Christian Penn’s medium of choice. Penn is the executive director of Group, anonprofit based in Staten Island that focuses on arts and youth, and he also works with students in schools and through youth agencies. “I always prefer painting colorful tropical birds,” he says of his avian subject. “The Violet-green Swallow stood out with its deep hues that blend really nicely. I'm partial to itspalette of blues, greens, and purples.”
