This Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 5:00- 7:00 PM the Nedra Matteucci Galleries, located at 1075 Paseo de Peralta in Santa Fe, will host the “Birds of a Feather Education Gala” benefitting APP New Mexico’s education programs.

“The Randall Davey APP Center & Sanctuary is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year,” said Executive Director Karyn Stockdale. “Our Center & Sanctuary sees over 10,000 visitors annually, and we rely on community support to help reach children and families who might not otherwise have an opportunity to connect with nature.”

APP’s education programs encourage children to interact with nature through hands-on activities that introduce key scientific concepts. Thanks to individual contributions and our supporters, APP worked with over 6,500 students in 2012, serving 73% Hispanic, 15% Anglo, 10% Native American, and 2% of other demographic background, with the majority in the very low income range (69%).

If you’d like to attend the fundraiser, RSVP to Maryam Miller at (505) 983-4609, ext 24. Suggested donation is $40 per person. Teachers can attend at no charge. The event will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, an alternative market and live entertainment.
