As a responsible land and recreation manager with public trails in the forest, the Randall Davey APP Center and Sanctuary is announcing new fire prevention measures to ensure public safety. Effective Monday, June 24th, in coordination with the closure of the Santa Fe National Forest, the Bear Canyon Trail located at the APP Center will be closed due to its proximity to the Santa Fe Watershed and forest access.
“These safety measures are meant to protect the public as well as the natural and cultural resources of the Randall Davey APP Center & Sanctuary and adjacent forest lands,” said Steve Cary, Operations and Resource Manager.
All other APP trails will remain open at this time. Visitors are welcome at the Center during hours of operation Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, but please no smoking, no bikes, and no dogs. Because of extreme fire danger, extra vigilance is requested for signs of smoke or fire.
